Day 2: Keynote 1 – Information Sharing – Where do I start and how do I get the approval to do this?

This session will cover guidelines and best practices for efficient and effective information sharing, producing significant benefits for organizations. Attendees can learn the benefits of information sharing and how to work through common obstacles to create an effective information sharing program inside their own organizations. We will review current cyber security threats and Health-ISAC’s role in helping to tackle these threats globally by demonstrating just how information sharing works in Healthcare. Example case studies will be used to show what information sharing looks like and how the entire healthcare community benefits through improved security. Attendees will also receive a template that can be used to develop a customized Information Sharing Best Practices Guide for their own organizations.

Errol Weiss joined Health-ISAC in April 2019 as its first Chief Security Officer and created a threat operations center that provides meaningful and actionable threat intelligence relevant for IT and infosec professionals in the healthcare sector.

Errol has over 25 years of experience in Information Security beginning his career with the National Security Agency (NSA). He created and ran Citigroup’s Cyber Intelligence Center and was a Senior Vice President Executive with Bank of America’s Global Information Security team.

Errol has a M.S. in Technical Management from Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Bucknell University.
